Tawang is one tourism place in North East India that needs no special introduction. With Tibet to its north, Bhutan to its southwest and Sela range of West Kameng to its east, Tawang captivates you with its scenic beauty. It is located 10000 feet above Mean Sea Level. The 400-year-old Tawang monastery is not only one among the oldest but it is named one among the largest Indian monasteries. Tawang chu River and Tawang valley are very mesmerizing. The inhabitants of the districts are all of Monpa tribes except Shyo village which is dominated by people of Tibetian origin. it is a heaven for adventure enthusiasts too; the tiny village’s plenty of adventure offerings ranging from trekking and hiking to mountain biking and wildlife spotting, truly make it one of the best adventure tourism destinations in Arunachal Pradesh.
